17th Annual Valentine Run/Walk to benefit the Legal Services of Northern California


Saturday, February 8, 2020.  Rain or shine!


We will set up on the back side of Country Club Plaza, 2310 Watt Ave., Sacramento, CA.

Please park in the front of the mall, if possible.  Please DO NOT park near banks or farmer’s market.   Please be respectful of the businesses that are open, or will open during the run/walk.

Chip Timing

The 4-mile event will be timed using ChronoTrack timing courtesy of Capital Road Race Management.

Age Divisions

9 yrs and under, 10-12, 13-15, 16-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+


 Every registered participant receives a commemorative t-shirt

 Each kids race participant receives finisher’s medal

 Awards will be presented to the TOP THREE MALE / FEMALE finisher in each age group

 An award for the OVERALL AND MASTERS (male / female / non-binary)

 Awards for  the BEST DRESSED Individual (under 18, 18+) Team, and canine participant

 1st and 2nd Place award for “Fastest Attorney” (male, female & non-binary) in three age groups (see below)

 Pledge prizes will be awarded after March 1 to our top fundraisers.

Fastest Attorney Competition

If you are an attorney and would like to compete against other lawyers for the title of Sacramento’s Fastest Attorney, be sure to mark the box on your registration form.  Fastest Attorney age divisions are under 35, 36-45, and 46+.  This has become such a popular event, we will now have awards for 1st and 2nd place male / female / non-binary finishers in each age division.  Have fun with this and get your whole firm to compete in a little friendly competition outside the courtroom!

Available 8am – 10:30am outdoors. Youth volunteers supervised by adults. $5.00 per child, payable in cash only. Signed medical release/liability waiver required. Sorry no crawlers, no diapers.

Safety Rules

If you are running with your dog, please limit your non-expandable leash to 3 feet long, pick up after your pets, and bring water for your pets. Please leave your roller blades, skateboards, and bicycles at home for the safety of all participants.  Strollers begin to left rear of the group.

The Course

The Valentine Run follows a fast flat course that loops through Sacramento’s beautiful Arden Park neighborhood.  View the course map here. View the course map here. The race begins and ends on Butano Drive, at the back side of Country Club Plaza Mall.

Driving Directions

From Highway 80 take El Camino (East) off of Capital City Freeway. Then turn right on Butano. From Highway 50, exit on Watt Avenue North, turn right on El Camino and then right on Butano.

Can’t Join Us?

If you are unable to participate in the actual race but would like to help out and raise funds for the cause, simply register as a virtual runner either online or on a mailed entry form and we will send you an official race t-shirt to say “thanks”!
