    "Race for Justice"

    The Valentine Run/Walk is kid-friendly, stroller-friendly, and canine-companion friendly! Over the years, the Valentine Run/Walk has become a classic event for individuals, families, and teams of all ages and abilities. The Valentine Run/Walk is kid-friendly, stroller-friendly, and canine-companion friendly! Participants are encouraged to wear their hearts on their sleeves, socks, tutus, onesies and collars to compete for best dressed awards and to show their love of the Valentine Run/Walk. The Valentine Run/Walk benefits Legal Services of Northern California.

  • You can participate from anywhere!

    The 2026 Valentine Run/Walk will once again be in-person on February 14, 2026, behind the Country Club Plaza Mall, 2310 Watt Ave., Sacramento, CA.

    Want to participate with family and friends from far away? Participants can join the race as virtual runners!

  • The Races Available

    There are three races available for everyone in the family! Race distances are:

    8:00 AM - Kids Fun Run 0-8 yrs (quarter mile)

    8:10 AM - Kids Fun Run 9-12 yrs (half mile)

    8:30 AM - 1.8 Miles (non-competitive)

    8:30 AM - 4 Miles (timed)

    Please note that all races are accessible--open to wheelchairs and strollers--and dog friendly.

    (No Rollerblades, Roller Skates or Bicycles)

  • Award Categories

    Please note: Age category awards are for the 4-mile. The 1.8-mile is non-competitive.

    • 12 yrs and under
    • 13 yrs - 15 yrs
    • 16 yrs - 18 yrs
    • 19 yrs - 24 yrs
    • 25 yrs - 29 yrs
    • 30 yrs - 34 yrs
    • 35 yrs - 39 yrs
    • Categories continue up to 80 yrs old and older

    SPECIAL CATEGORIES

    • Female Attorney age 39 yrs and under
    • Male Attorney age 39 yrs and under
    • Non Binary Attorney age 39 yrs and under
    • Female Attorney age 40 yrs +
    • Male Attorney age 40 yrs +
    • Non Binary Attorney age 40 yrs +

    BEST DRESSED

    • Best Dressed Participant Under 18 yrs (Plaque Awarded
    • Best Dressed Participant Over 18 yrs (Plaque Awarded)
    • Best Dressed Team of All Sizes (Two Plaques Awarded)
    • Best Dressed Dog (Healthy Treats and a Toy will be Awarded)
