Looking to lend a hand at the Valentine Run/Walk? You're in luck! You can choose from a variety of volunteer positions that typically run from 6 am until 10:30 am, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the rest of your day. While you can request your top two preferred positions, please note that placement is not guaranteed. The final volunteer assignments will be communicated to you via email during the week of the event, based on the email address you provided during sign-up. We hope you have a rewarding experience volunteering!

Position Descriptions

• Packet Pick Up and Pre-Registration
• Friday before the event - Volunteers will distribute Race Packets to Pre-Registered Runners and/or assist with Registering Participants (Lunch provided)
• Aid Station Attendant
• Volunteers will provide water for runners around the halfway mark of the course
• Awards table
• Volunteers will assist with unpacking and distribuing the awards
• Best Dressed Judge
• Volunteers will deliberate with other Best Dressed judges to decide the Best Dressed prize winners
• Coffee Booth Assistant
• Volunteers will hand out coffee to participants
• Child Care
• Volunteers will oversee Child Care area
• Litter & Recyclables
• Volunteers will patrol the parking lot and expo area for any trash or debris
• Food and Beverage Distribution
• Volunteers will maintain stock of foods laid out on tables
• Race Medals
• Volunteers will hand out Race Day Medals at the finish line
• Course Monitors
• Volunteers will monitor an assigned intersection along the race course. Volunteers must be physically able to walk several blocks to their assigned intersection.
• Parking Lot Monitors
• Volunteers will enforce parking rules
• Race Day Registration
• Volunteers will assist Race Management Staff with registering participants at the event site or assist pre-registered participants picking up their race packets
• T-Shirt Booth Assistants
• Volunteers will distribute t-shirts to registered runners and volunteers
• Race Day Set Up
• Volunteers will help unload the rental truck, help assemble canopies, and decorate.
• Race Day Breakdown and Clean Up
• Volunteers will disassemble, clean up and load supplies onto the rental truck.
